Family Christmas Party

We had the Davis family Christmas Party this past weekend. As always, it was loads of fun. We had it at Steph and Joe's new house and the extra room was wonderful. Here is the traditional newspaper game. Gage was definitely the lucky one with the dice that night!
I think Grace was trying to be Ms. Photogenic at the party. Every picture I took of her turned out so cute. She never can keep that tongue in her mouth though, I love it.

Matt was pretending to eat cotton balls as Beau handed them to him. Beau seriously thought it was the funniest thing ever. This is him throwing his head back in laughter. He is such a happy little boy, but this night was especially cute. He was entertained with cotton balls and a spoon almost the entire night

Our First Christmas Tree

I finally found the cord to download pictures! Our tree is a little sparce as far as decorations go, but it's still fun to have our first Christmas tree. We went to buy an artificial tree, but we never found any we both liked. We were well into December and I really had given up on even having a Christmas tree this year when I came home from mutual and Matt had our tree in the middle of the room. We ran into Walmart that night to buy all the lights. It takes up so much room that if you want to watch tv you can't sit on the love seat, but I love it!

VEGAS

Last weekend Matt and I took a little trip to Las Vegas. We left Thursday after his work party and stayed in Cedar City. Friday morning we drove down to Vegas and went to the outlet malls for a few hours. We had tickets to the National Finals Rodeo, which was the main purpose of our trip. My dad won them and wasn't going to use them so we were the lucky recipients. It was a very impressive rodeo, after our terrible parking situation. We paid ten dollars to literally park across the street from our hotel. With traffic we could have walked back to our hotel faster than we were able to drive. I think it ruined Matt's whole night, it was quite ridiculous how they had it set up though. We were in the upper bowl above the bull pens so we couldn't see any of the bull riding, but other than that, they were pretty good seats.
Saturday morning we went through the Vegas temple. I loved it. It was by far the smallest session I have ever been in. There were only like twelve people total. The grounds were so gorgeous. Very green compared to all the houses nearby. I wish I would have taken pictures, but I was way too cold.
On our way home we took a "scenic" route that Matt has wanted to take forever. It adds and extra 200 miles to the ride home, but I agreed since we were splitting it up between two days. The scenic route was completely barren land, the entire way. And it was totally dark by 5:00, which was only like an hour and a half into our journey, but Matt still seemed to enjoy it. We stayed in Ely, Nevada. What a desolate city. (It is the starting city of the lonliest road in America.) It was freezing cold, but thank goodness we didn't stay this week. Last night it was -29 degrees in Ely. It was also as empty as could be. We went to the Hotel Nevada and there were only like five other people in the entire casino. That was by far our best hotel room, and the cheapest too, so it worked out great. Thanks dad for the tickets that brought about our fun weekend getaway.

Big News

As I am sure you have noticed, I have had no exciting or blog-worthy information for quite some time. Well, I decided that would just not do, and therefore came up with some wonderful information to share. Matt and I will have a new addition to our family in June. It will most likely be Corbin Matthew Jenkins, but it is slightly early and still might change.
I went to the doctor last night and after a two and a half hour wait I finally got in. He did the ultrasound and said it looked like a boy, but reminded me they all look like boys at this stage. Then a few minutes later he commented again on how much it looked like a boy. He said I can't quote him, which might be what I am doing right now, but he really thinks it will be a boy, and therefore Corbin Matthew.
