Pleasant View founders day parade

The officers from North Ogden Junior High needed a trailer to be in the two floats this summer. I waited for a while and nobody volunteered so I offered up our old crappy trailer. Corbin was super embarrassed so he and Maggie decided they would stain it so it looked nicer. Last Monday they both willingly painted three coats on the trailer and it looked so much nicer.
Thursday morning Corbin and all the other officers came over to decorate. Then on Saturday they were in the Pleasant View Founders Day parade. Corb sat on the float spraying water. Only the people walking could throw candy. He doesn't really know any of the other officers very well yet, but the parade was the most fun for him so far.
I actually really like parades. We had fun watching. Corbin, Makenna, and Megan were all in this one. Plus we recognized some friends and neighbors.

Van really liked the parade this year. He loved the police cars and fire trucks the best but the whole thing he ate candy and watched super well.

Dog house

At the first of the year Matt decided he wanted to build a dog house for Cougar with the kids. It was a fun little project the first few Saturdays because the kids were awesome to help and Matt enjoyed working with them. It ended up taking months to finish and was super expensive by the time it was done. Cougar finally got the house in his run last week! The kids worked hard and Matt worked on it a ton. Overall it was probably more work and money than it was worth, but it turned out great.
We did have one major melt down in the middle of Lowe's on the day we picked out the paint. I told Claire she could choose the color because she hadn't really been able to help much. She chose yellow and the boys were not happy. They both were crying and I took them straight out to the car while Matt bought the paint with the girls. Corbin had helped Matt a lot so far on the dog house and never helped again because it was yellow. Claire and Maggie were quite pleased with the color.
Matt wanted his name in final letters and the handles on the side to help it roll easier so those were the finishing touches to make it complete. He even added carpet inside, but that didn't even last one day before Cougar and Hank (Malcolm's dog we had this week) shredded it with carpet pieces everywhere.
It is so nice to have done. Cougar's other dog house was disgusting. It was moldy, falling apart, and had spiders all over inside it. This is a great improvement.

Treehouse

Van and Claire have only been to the treehouse once in their lives. It is a little crazy because we used to go all the time. The other day it was hot and we were bored so I bought a year pass for all my kids to the Treehouse. Corbin wasn't very excited, but he tagged along and we all had fun. It really is a place for all ages. Kent left us right when we got there and I only saw him long enough to take one picture. He had a great time. Corbin and Maggie did some of the older trivia style and art stuff and then had fun playing with Van and Claire. Van and Claire loved every part of it. My mom came and met us too, which was nice because it is super hard to watch Claire and Van at the same time. We stayed for a couple hours and then went out to lunch with Grandma. It made for a great summer day.

Garth Brooks

My sisters and I went to the Garth Brooks concert on Friday night. It was so much fun! We stopped at Zupas and picked up food and then had a little picnic at the stadium after we found a good parking spot. He is such a fun entertainer. I really loved when he came back out at the end alone and sang poster requests with just his guitar. Trisha Yearwood came out at the end too, which was awesome! I miss my 90's country. It was a great girls night out!

Corbin's 12th birthday

Corbin turned 12 on Wednesday. I am not much for making birthdays too grand, but it was a good day. He opened two of his presents in the morning. He got a target soccer net that already broke so I have to get it switched for a different one. We got Cafe Rio take out and Grandma and Grandpa Davis came up for presents and doughnuts.

Deacon's high adventure

Corbin had his first high adventure last week. They went backpacking from Spirit lake to Tamarac lake in the Uintahs. He got sick the first night, but other than that he had a lot of fun. It was nice that Matt was able to go with them. They said it was pretty laid back, hiking in, fishing, and just hanging out.

TDE Dance Revue

Aunt Shelley took the day off work to do all the girls makeup for the final dance revue. Maggie was so excited! She looked gorgeous! They performed their Hamilton dances for this show and I didn't get a single picture. There was a little drama and we forgot Maggie's black booty shorts, but luckily we were able to borrow some and everything went well. This is always the best show to watch because they perform all four of their dances from the year. She had a great year!

KBell Lagoon Day

We spent like nine hours at Lagoon for Kbell's Lagoon day. My kids had so much fun going around with other kids and having Matt there. Kent was there, but he was having so much fun and rarely with me on the little rides that I didn't get a single picture of him. Maggie was the only one to win money at the dinner game and came away with $20.
