Haircut

The other day I was as I was combing Maggie's hair I had a crazy idea to try cutting it myself to take of the ends and even it all out. I have no clue about anything to do with cutting hair and I definitely don't have the right scissors. I tried anyway, and it was terrible. I ended up making it way more uneven that it was before. This is the original picture before it was cut at all.
BEFORE
Every time I looked at Maggie her hair drove me crazy. It took me a few days before I could go in and get it fixed, but yesterday I took her to Super Cuts to get it all evened out. She came home with the cutest bob. I can't believe how much shorter it is than before I cut it though, it makes me a little sad.

AFTER

She is still super cute and it actually curls under naturally, so it does look better for sure. This is her hairstyle she is sporting with her new haircut today.

Jenkins' Holiday Party

I love that the Jenkins family has their holiday party after the holidays, in the first few weeks of January. It is fun to have something to look forward to in this terribly boring month. Miss Maggie in her moo cow shirt and me.
Scott and Becky were in charge this year and set up a game of human fusball. Corbin was a little unsure at first, but he looked cute out there playing.
The boys, minus Malcolm. Corbin kind of ruined the picture, but that's okay. I love that Uncle Mike is so involved with all of our family stuff lately. My kids are starting to know who he is, and learn to like him!

New Years

Matt and I have never been to into the New Year celebrations. This year we took our kids bowling with Tyson and Sheryl Panter and their boys. I was a little worried about Maggie because within the first two minutes of being there she had already booked it down one of the lanes and slipped.
This picture is terrible, but she was her same old independent self. She wanted to do it all on her own. So once she set it down, I would have to give the ball a push down the lane.
Corbin had a lot of fun, but he was barely strong enough to get it down the lane. A couple of his needed a little push from another ball to make it to the pins. He was so fun though. Every time I hit a pin he would say, "Great job, Mom." or "Perfect!"
Maggie was done bowling about half way through. Good thing Sheryl had her Mary Poppins back that had a never ending supply of entertainment and treats! This is what I get when I ask Maggie to smile.
I hadn't been bowling for years, it was actually really fun. When we first got there the bowling alley was dead too, so maybe the start of a New Year's tradition.
After bowling we headed home and put the kids in bed. Then Matt and I fell asleep about 9:30. I woke up to our neighbors 20 minute fireworks show at midnight, then to Corbin at two and Maggie at four. Pretty lame after bowling, but that was really all we needed.
