All the Jenkins went to Mark's new cabin between Christmas and New Years. It is definitely not finished and not ready to be staying at, but we went anyway. There was no furniture, except a folding table in the main room. No appliances, only half the bathrooms worked, but there was a couch downstairs, a game table, and mattresses arrived the morning Meredith's family got there. We didn't get up there until Thursday afternoon. I was a little skeptical of going so soon, but it turned out to be really fun. Matt was super sick and didn't get to hang out outside sledding or snowmobiling. Claire ended up not feeling great, but still could do most of the fun stuff. Mark had two new snowmobiles for the cabin that everyone got to try out. It is crazy how little snow there is this year compared to last. Van wanted to dig a hole and we barely dug at all before we hit the ground. I couldn't even bury him. We spent hours outside sledding down the hill. We went out to dinner both nights we were there because we couldn't cook anything. The older kids spent hours playing games and just hanging out. It made me so excited for when the cabin in actually finished. It will be so much fun! On Friday we went to a pool and hotpots in the afternoon. Van fell asleep in the car so Matt and the other kids went in and started swimming. By the time I got in (and when I saw the pool) I didn't care much to get in so I just watched. The kids had fun, but it was a little nasty.

Christmas
Corbin, Maggie, Kent, and Claire all slept in the boys room on Christmas Eve. I tried to put Claire in her own bed, but she knew that Christmas Eve was for "megabed." They were all together so they woke up and emptied their stockings together. The stockings are always on the couch in the piano room so they get those without going in the main room. I made them wait until about a half hour until eight for me to wake up Van to do all the Christmas presents. Van got his stocking alone and then we all went into the main room together.
We took our annual picture in front of the tree first. We open presents one at a time from youngest to oldest. I think everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Matt and I got lifetime sleds for the family to share. Maggie got some dance clothes and UGG slippers. Corbin got a new backpack. Kent got a space projector and a tonies box with National Geographic audio books. Claire got earmuffs in her stocking that she wore all day long. Van was thrilled with every thing he opened. It was definitely the year of dinosaur gifts.
The rest of the day was spent with our families. We went to Mark and Marianne's first. They gave everyone boots and beanies to use at the cabin. We spent some time over at my parents house as well, but we missed seeing Steph this year. My kids were ready to head home and spend time with their new things so we went home and I got the two littles in bed. It was a lot of late nights in a row, but a wonderful Christmas!
