Our new house!

Matt and I signed all the papers and closed on our new house today! I am so excited to have more room and to not pay rent anymore!
We are moving out of 850 square feet and two bedrooms into a 2800 square foot home with 5 bedrooms. I am a little nervous that I ended up choosing North Ogden over Plain City because I have been set on it for so long, but I do love the area. I am going to keep Corbin in preschool in Plain City for the rest of the year though.
We have loved living in Ogden, mostly because of our ward. Matt isn't even excited yet because he doesn't want to leave the ward. I totally feel like it is my fault he is leaving the bishopric, but everything went so smoothly with this house I think it is right!
It will be a madhouse at first because Matt, Meri, and their six kids will be living in the basement while they build their house. In the next few years, depending on when we have our next kids, I would love to start a preschool in the basement. But for now I will just enjoy the space upstairs that is still almost double our current house!

Jerry's Nursery

Corbin had his field trip to Jerry's Nursery this week. We learned about how pumpkins grow and got to pick out a pumpkin for both Corbin and Maggie. They also had a hay ride that took them by all the horses down the street.
We got to walk around while we waited for the hay ride. Jerry told us this is the only registered covered bridge in the state. Kind of random, but cool. It is a very pretty bridge.

Rice Cereal

I have been driving Matt crazy because I haven't given Kent rice cereal yet. Corbin and Maggie had right at four months. Kent turned five months yesterday and Saturday was his first time. Honestly, it just sounds like a lot of work that I am not quite ready for. I thought he was ready. He is always eying and trying to get our food. I just wanted to wait until we had a bigger kitchen to put the high chair in.
Saturday Matt told me if I didn't give him some, he would do it Monday. I wouldn't have cared if he did it first, but I did it Saturday. Kent hated it. He cried the whole maybe three minutes I tried.
I tried again on Monday and he hated it again.
I was able to get a smile out of him, but he didn't enjoy the food. I don't think he swallowed any of it. It just sat in his mouth until he drooled it all out.

Montana

We made our annual Austin and Shawnee trip last weekend and headed up to Montana as a family. This was one of my very favorite trips because it was so relaxed. We left Thursday morning and stopped in Logan to eat lunch at a park. My kids really wanted the flashlights from Arctic Circle, so we stopped there.
After we played at the park for a while, we walked through Willow Park Zoo.
We went over to the Lazy One outlet in Logan and let our kids pick out new pajamas for the trip. Then we headed up to Bear World. We misunderstood the man at the front gate so we went and let our kids ride the amusement rides before driving through to see the bears. Then it was too late to drive through. Luckily, they refunded Matt and my admissions. It worked out pretty good because our kids loved the rides way more than the bears.
We stayed over in West Yellowstone and let our kids swim that night, which of course was their favorite part of the whole trip.
Friday morning we drove through the tip of Yellowstone. Beartooth Pass, the straight shot to Austin's house was closed, but Matt just kept expecting it to open up before we got there. LUCKILY, it did. Otherwise our drive would have been at least an hour longer and I would not have been a very happy passenger. The pass is so beautiful, but really quite freaky.
Friday afternoon to Sunday morning was spent hanging out with Austin, Shawnee, Jud, and Tank. My kids were terrified of Tank at first. Corbin warmed up to him a little by the end.Corbin was darling with Jud. He would walk around and play with him and was so polite. I asked him why he can't be that nice to Maggie and he said, "Mom, Jud is littler than Maggie!"
It is always so fun to go visit, but I always regret it for the last few hours of the ride home. We came straight home Sunday morning, so by the time we hit Pocatello, we were all done. The whole nine hour drive we only stopped in Dillon, MT for 45 minutes for lunch and 20 minutes in Idaho Falls so it was LONG!
