Oh, how he loves his dad!

Corbin absolutely LOVES his dad. I am great to play with during the day, but as soon as dad gets home at night, all I do is get in the way. Matt can't play with Corbin enough. When it is time for Matt to get ready for school, Corbin gets ticked. Matt shuts the door to shower and Corbin will crawl right over and try anything he can to get inside. He tries to push it open and stand up against it, anything to get closer to dad. He cries because he can't figure out how. I go pick him up and all he does is crawl back over to the door. (See all I do is get in the way.) It only makes it worse when Matt talks and Corbin can hear his voice coming from behind the door.He used to leave the door open, but when Corbin crawled into the shower with him, that stopped. So I just have to sit with Corbin on my lap in the bathroom while dad talks to him.

Train Museum

Last Monday for the holiday, the whole family, minus husbands, went to the train museum. I don't think Corbin really cared that he was there, in fact he probably didn't like it. I kept trying to take his picture and I wouldn't let him crawl all over the place. I had to wake him up so he was still tired and super mellow. No one could get him to smile for anything. The rest of us had a great time though.

Let the maddness begin . . .

I am in the Young Women's Presidency in our ward in Ogden. There isn't a ton of money in our ward so we rely heavily on our fundraiser for girls camp each year. Our girls have done the same thing the past four years to raise money, make bread. This year, everyone decided no more bread. The new idea was a ward cookbook. Well, to have it done by the company we looked into wouldn't be beneficial for us in terms of how much money we would actually get out of the whole event, so we are doing it ourselves. We have started to collect recipes from our ward members, who are excellent cooks (I have a relatively old ward). And who better to type up all the recipes than the stay-at-home mom, Sister Jenkins. I am not complaining because I am kind of a freak about thinks like this because I would like them to look good, which means I want them to look exactly the way I think would look good. But I don't think I quite understood the undertaking I was volunteering for. So if anyone needs me for the next three months, if Corbin is napping, I will be at this computer just typing away.
I actually am really excited for this cookbook. I think it will get a great response from our ward and as I mentioned we have some excellent cooks. And I love my girls and want them to have a great girls camp! This is for them.

Treehouse Museum

Shannon and Beau invited us to the Treehouse yesterday. I had never been, I loved it! It is seriously so cool. It was crazy busy with fieldtrips and just a ton of kids, but it was still fun. Corbin is still a little young because really all he wanted to do was suck on all of the toys, but I brought him his favorite yellow seven (a bath toy he absolutely loves) and we were golden. There were a few things we found that he enjoyed.

He always has major hat hair, with what little hair he has.He loved crawling through the big tree stumps that were throughout the Treehouse. He also loved climbing in a little garden area. We had a great time. It will be way fun when he is old enough to really enjoy it.

Another Year Has Gone By!

Goodbye 2010!

Even though there were some major events in our lives in 2010, there weren't quite as many as in 2009. We had a great year though. Here are some of the highlights.
We had our first year anniversary on March 26, 2010.
Of course, Mr. Corbin came to join our family! What a crazy life changing event that was absolutely amazing! We love Corbin so much! I am so grateful he is healthy and strong!
Sadly, Corbin had to spend one night in the hospital. That was seriously the WORST night of my life. He had two different viruses and screemed for hours! Let's never visit that place again!
The rest of the highlights are all of Corbin's firsts. His first Halloween as an alligator. He is now crawling, he is pulling himself up on everything and trying to take a step.

The only downfall of 2010 was that my child never aquired a desire for sleep. Hopefully 2011 will be the year, and hopefully that will happen in January of 2011!

Happy New Year!
