Corbin turned two!

Corbin is two, I can't believe it. He is getting so big. His birthday was Friday and we just hung out around the house. His first present was actually from our neighbor. He is probably nearing 80 and I have only talked to him once in my life. But he came over and told Corbin they share the same birthday so he wanted to give him a present. It was so cute, he gave Corb an energizer flashlight/glowstick. Corbin was too scared of him to even look at him until Brother Slater asked Corbin if he wanted the present. Corb stopped crying said yes and took it from him and then looked away. I am glad I am raising such a friendly and polite little boy.
We had grandparents up for cake and ice cream that night. He a got tractor cake, since that is his current obsession. He even chose one of his tractor shirts to wear that morning but it was long sleeved. The only way I convinced him into changing into short sleeves was to wash his other tractor shirt for him to wear.
Corb was hilarious with his clothes. We all gave him an outfit and he didn't want to be bothered by them. We really should have opened those first and then the fun presents. I'm glad he loved all of his presents at least.

Heber City

The Jenkins' family vacation this year was the "Mansion Trip" as Meri's kids named it. We rented a home up in Heber City. It was 6500 square feet with eight bedrooms, a hot tub, pool table, ping pong table, and theater room. We left Sunday after Maggie's blessing. Sunday night and Monday we just hung out around the house. It was a nice laid back get away. The hot tub wasn't really very hot so it served as a swimming pool for the kids. Corbin wasn't too sure of it though.
Tuesday we went into Park City to ride the Alpine Slide. Corbin didn't get a nap that day so he was pretty out of it while we were waiting.
I took him over to show him the slides and he couldn't have cared less, all he wanted was the merry-go-round. So Grandpa Jenkins took him on it and Corbin was thrilled! It got stuck for a second and then jerked when it started again and Corb thought that was hilarious. This was right after it started moving again.
I really didn't want to do the slides, but Mark bought me a ticket so I couldn't not use it. I was a nervous wreck! I HATE ski lifts! Being on the same chair as Corbin really didn't make matters any better either. He was so tired that he wanted to sit on Matt's lap so he kept moving trying to climb up. Matt A. was just laughing at me because I was so freaked out. The slides were way fun, but I'm not quite sure it was worth the anxiety of riding up to them. Matt took Corbin with him and said Corb loved the slide, but we didn't get any pictures because everyone was on the slides, except Matt's parents who each had one of the babies.
We went to a park after the slides to eat lunch. Maggie was in her car seat in the shade of a tree and a dog walked by and started to lift his leg to pee on my child! Matt yelled at the dog about the same time his owner noticed. The owner was all defensive and mad at Matt. Really? Your dog almost peed on our child and we can't yell at him?
By the time we were heading home Corbin was beat, so dead tired. Matt got him an ice cream cone and Corb couldn't even stay awake to eat it. He was practically asleep so I would try taking the cone out of his hand. He would scream at me and take another bite and within seconds be asleep again. We finally had to pull over and let Matt take the cone from him because he couldn't stay awake to finish it, it was a mess by the time we stopped.
By the time we got home I was beat as well, but it was such a nice little get-a-way. I loved that it was at the beginning of the week too. Matt only had to work a partial week and then it was the weekend. That is the way to do all vacations.

Maggie's Blessing Day

Matt blessed Maggie on Sunday, June 10th. I am so grateful that my kids have an amazing priesthood holder as their father that can give them a name and a blessing. And that all of our other family members have the priesthood to stand in the circle. We had a great day with all of our wonderful family.
Maggie wore the same dress I was blessed in almost 25 years ago. Grandma Jenkins bought her the cute bow and bracelet she was wearing. She looked so beautiful.
I am glad we got the whole dress situation worked out. Initially my mom gave me Shannon's blessing dress, thinking it was mine. Then the week before Maggie's blessing Shannon looked at her blessing pictures and realized I had the wrong dress. So luckily we caught it beforehand and she wasn't blessed in Aunt Shannon's dress. Even though it's pretty, it doesn't have quite the same meaning.

I can't believe we now have a family of four!
The day was great with all of our family coming over to our house for a little lunch afterwards.

Corbin & Max

Corbin loves his cousin Max! And Max loves Corbin. I have a million stories about how Corbin loves Max, but my favorite happened this past week. Our family went over to our friends for Family Home Evening on Monday night. To get Corbin to leave their house we told him we were taking him to Max's house. Corb was going to sleep over at Melissa's because I was leaving for girls camp at 6:30 Tuesday morning. Corbin was way excited to go to Max's and went right to our car. When we pulled up to our driveway he was ticked because we were at our house instead of Max's. We told him we just had to run inside and grab some clothes and then we would go to Max's. We went inside and Matt and I started doing our thing not paying any attention to Corb. Next thing we know he had grabbed as many clothes as he could hold from his drawer and was standing next to the front door waiting. He did exactly what we told him, we would grab some clothes and go. He doesn't miss anything!

Eight Weeks Already

Seriously, Maggie is eight weeks already? She is growing like crazy! I am terrible at photography, but today we had a mini photo shoot in our living room to show off her darling outfit Aunt Shelly gave her.

She is already smiling and it is adorable! I have tried to get a picture, but haven't been successful quite yet. She is a great little sleeper. I feed here before bed, around nine or ten, she will wake up once between two and three and then sleep until seven or eight. It is so great to have such a good little sleeper!
