Camping

Last weekend we took our kids to North Fork just for the night. We had a real rough start, but it was a fun night. We started out later then we wanted to had to stop at a few stores and went up to South Fork. Every single campground was full so after driving for like an hour we went to North Fork. The kids (and mostly me) were super happy to be out of the car.
The kids were so excited to get everything set up. They blew up the air mattress all by themselves.
The girls played games in the tent while the boys went on a journey.
They had been begging all night to make smores. Matt started a fire, with a torch, which the kids really liked. They  impatiently roasted their marshmallows took one bite and gave the rest of their smores to Matt.
Kent was actually really easy. About ten thirty I rocked him and laid him in his pack n play. He was asleep after about ten minutes. Maggie was not so easy. She was so excited, she couldn't even lay in her sleeping bag. Finally I got her to fall asleep on my lap in the car. The kids slept for almost seven hours. In the morning we ate breakfast, went on an adventure and were in the car headed home by 9:30. It was short and sweet, but the kids were happy we took them camping. Maggie fell asleep in the car and slept until almost two.

Corbin is FIVE!

Corbin turned five on the 15th. We celebrated with Matt's family Sunday night at dinner. Marianne gave him a Camelbak and Michelle gave him a slip n slide and a styrofoam airplane. On the way home he told me he liked his drinking backpack the best, the airplane next, and everything else after that.
Monday he was able to open one present in the morning, a pair of flip flops. He was so excited about them, but they were too small. I told him he couldn't wear them to swimming lessons and he was so upset. I finally talked him out of it.

We had swimming lessons and he spent most of the afternoon at Melissa's house. My family all came over that night for a little birthday party. He wanted it just like Kent's but I wasn't ambitious enough, A ninja cake is as fancy as it got. He had a ton of fun still.

Grandma and Grandpa's gift was a hit. He loves to dig!
His main gift from Matt and I came two days late. It was pretty anticlimatic on Monday, but it made Wednesday pretty fun. A ninja costume is all he asked for.
We had his five year well child visit last week. He is 33% for weight, not even 40 pounds yet, and 29% for his height.

Swimming Lessons

Erin's sister in law Ali taught our kids swimming lessons this year. They loved her. She made everything into a game. Their very favorite thing they learned was the monkey walk. They can now get themselves completely around the pool and they think it's pretty cool.
It was nice to have a class full of family. Maybe not for Ali; Corbin and Kael kind of fed off of each other, but they had so much fun together.
Maggie was super scared. She wouldn't even lay flat to learn to float, she kind of freaked out any time she tried, but at least she spent some time getting used to the water.
The last day she let them play on the slide. They both loved it. My picture of Maggie was super blurry,

Welcome to Summer

School is out, it's time to play. Shannon came over to my house the other day to let the kids swim. I bought a cheap $10 pool at Walmart, and they played in it for hours. So worth the money. Kent got his first real swimming experience and he loved it! All of my babies have been obsessed with water. I think it might be partially from bathing with daddy from the time they were born.

Tee Ball

Corbin played his first year of tee ball this spring. It was so cute to watch. Corbin didn't know if he liked it or not. Some nights he loved it, others he said there was too much waiting. My favorite is the night he played catcher and could barely move in all the gear he was wearing.
Mike Martini coached him out in Plain City. His Father-in-law took a ton of pictures of all the kids.
