Turnin' Three

Corbin turned three on Saturday! I can hardly believe I have a three year old! We were still on our vacation so we had a little mini party Saturday night. I spent forever filling up water balloons for a game that flopped! But the kids had a whole three minutes of fun throwing them everywhere.
Corbin got a bike that he loves to admire, but don't ask him to sit on it, or especially ride it. He hates it, won't even try it. Yesterday I bribed him with a sucker just to sit on it for one minute and he did that, but he swears it wasn't at all fun. Maggie, on the other hand, loves it! Of course.
He did love this cars bike kit. It came with a bag, water bottle, bell, and some decorations. He decorates and redecorates his bike multiple times in a day, but still doesn't sit on it.
Beau was so excited to give Corbin a present, he hid it out in the field and Corb had to go find it. Even though Beau brought him right to it and opened it for him, they were so cute.
These two dinosaurs were the hit. Corbin has played with those more than any other present.

Sunday, we celebrated Michelle, Malcolm, and Corbin's birthday at the Jenkins'. He loved his monster quilt!
Monday night, my parents came over and gave Corbin more presents. He was one spoiled three year old.

Corbin is so much fun! I love that he can carry on full conversations now and really understands what is going on. He loves to help, especially Matt. Matt takes him on all his side jobs and Corb does everything his dad asks him to. He mows the lawn the entire time Matt does and if he takes a break he jumps right back up when Matt looks over at him. He has a wild imagination. He is always playing pretend and is adamant that I try whatever it is we are doing. He made me "just try" his peanut butter and honey sandwich that I don't like. I had to "just try" to tell him a mountain lion story for bed last night. He is such an awesome little boy that I love so much! Happy Birthday Corb!

Jackson Hole

This year for the Davis family vacation we rented a cabin in Driggs, Idaho and drove over to Jackson. We hiked Jenny Lake in Teton National Park. It was a lot more hike than we were expecting. Our kids had a terrible night sleep the first night at the cabin so they were both so tired and not fun to hike with. Corbin usually is such a great hiker and he wanted to be carried the whole way. Maggie is a terrible hiker and she wanted to walk the whole thing, she hates being held.

This walking stick that Gage found was the best thing for Corbin. We were almost to the falls and Corbin was done. When Gage gave Corb this walking stick, he thought it was so cool and hiked the rest of the time refusing any help from anyone.

The falls were awesome. I haven't done this hike for years, it was totally worth it (now that it is said and done.)
Friday night we went to Bar J Wranglers. Matt went back to the cabin with Corbin and Maggie, which made for an even better night of entertainment. I am so glad I wasn't wrestling with Maggie the whole time. The first few minutes we were there I was regretting it because I had only gotten three hours of sleep the night before I could hardly stay awake, but once they got going it was so fun. Bar J is a must when in Jackson.
Saturday the boys and the kids rode the river. Corbin had so much fun. He loves that he pushed Uncle Bryce in the water. My mom and I just hung out at the Cabin with the youngest kids that weren't going on the river. It is exhausting not being in your own home and taking the kids on vacations, but definitely worth it.

How Matt does Primary!

In our ward, the Relief Society sets it up so once a year, or so, all of the women of the ward can meet together. Matt prepares Sharing Time for the primary. He usually finds a way to incorporate candy, but does a great job. This was on tithing and how it opens the windows of heaven. We stayed up making one for him and a second for Melissa to use, but it was worth it. Hopefully he is just as creative and willing to help when it is my turn to do sharing time. Notice he even put a latch on the window for them to open. He likes his detail!

Dinosaur Park

A few weeks ago Shannon, my parents and I went to Dinosaur Park. It was so fun to just have a few of the younger ones. My kids loved it. We picked up lunch on the way and ate in the park. I didn't think Maggie would like it nearly as much as she did. She squealed at every dinosaur she saw. Corbin did much better than when we went at Halloween. Until we went upstairs . . . way too real for him. The next week Max called and invited Corbin to go again and Corbin didn't want to go because he told me Max would want to go upstairs. I made Max promise he wouldn't so Corbin was happy to go. Maggie didn't mind the life-like dinosaurs upstairs until my dad moved her stroller right next to the baby and it turned its head and roared at her. Then she bawled until we got outside.
Shannon was on top of the field guide and helped Corb write in his at every dinosaur. He thought it was pretty cool. The other day he got out all of his dinosaurs and made his own dinosaur park. He then walked past each of them and pretended to write about them.
Overall a great time.

I love that we have so many fun things for kids to do around us. I randomly saw my friend that lives in Texas while we were there and she said they have no where to take their kids down there. She misses all the museums and parks.

Dirty Girl

Seriously, my kids are complete opposites in so many ways. Corbin hates to be dirty. He will wipe or wash his hands multiple times during a meal or project if he gets too dirty. Maggie on the other hand has no problem with dirt, mud, food, whatever it might be. This isn't the greatest picture, but Corbin and Maggie were outside playing the other morning and Corbin wanted to make a mud pie. He exclusively uses the shovel as to not get anything on his hands. Maggie just plops down in a puddle of water and makes herself right at home!

Welcome Summer!

For Memorial Day, the Jenkins always go to the Clearfield pool. It is always super busy, but this year was a little better because the outside was open. It was way cold outside, but as long as you stayed in the water, it was okay. Maggie absolutely loved swimming! Her lips were purple and she did not want to get out. Corb couldn't get enough either. I love the Clearfield pool. I wish is was closer because there is a pool for everyone. This outdoor pool is awesome because it only goes to two feet deep. We had such a great time.
