Corbin had his officer pictures taken a few weeks ago. I love them! He is so handsome! I do think it is a little weird how the editing made their sweaters blue instead of purple, but he still looks awesome.

Bishopric
Matt got called to be the first counselor in the Bishopric of the North Ogden 23rd Ward on September 24th. The next week was general conference so we didn't go to church. The following week I asked my kids to get ready on their own completely since dad wasn't going to be home on Sunday mornings anymore. Kent got completely ready without my asking and Maggie got herself and Van ready. Claire and Corbin did awesome getting ready as well. I had to take a picture of the boys because they looked so handsome in their Sunday Best. It's been easy so far because church starts at noon. Next year will be the real challenge.
Kent hates wearing a suit because he gets so hot, but he sure looks good when he does.
Haunted House
Maggie made her sixth grade haunted house this year. She did most of it on her own, but the parts I did help her with I really enjoyed doing it with her. It turned out super cute! I forgot to take a picture until she was getting out of the car to leave it at school.
Fall Hike
Saturday night of Fall Break we went for an evening hike to see the fall colors and see the sunset. We were a little late to see the peak of the colors, but it was still beautiful. We just did a short little walk along the trail head at the top of the divide. I feel like these weekends with the entire family are going to be gone before I know it. Sometimes it seems too hard to try and please everybody into doing the same thing all together, but I sure love when we do and it works out!
Corn Maze
Over Fall Break, Matt took off early one day and we took our kids and their friends to Cornucopia Corn Maze in Plain City. Kent had two friends and Corbin and Maggie each had one. I was glad Claire didn't bring her friend because she and Van played together. It was a rough start because I wasn't very happy about bringing so many friends and driving separate, but it turned out great. Everyone had so much fun. We played in the courtyard for quite a while. It had fun swings and a slide the kids loved. Maggie really liked the corn pit. We went through the corn maze in shifts. Van didn't like it and Claire had to go to the bathroom so we didn't make it far. The older kids all went through it. The rest of the time was spent on the bounce houses. All the kids had fun on those. Claire is brave, she even loved the haunted maze. We spent over two hours there and everyone was still having fun when we left. It was a great little outing!

Pumpkin picking
Today is fall break. We didn't have anything big planned so we went to pick pumpkins. I love to let all the kids pick out their own. We got a fun assortment this year, pink, red, orange, and green. Claire wasn't in the mood for me to take her picture apparently, but at least she was in one. Picking pumpkins is such a simple thing, but it always made more fun when cousins come. Each family picked one pumpkin for Great Grandpa and Grandma Davis and then we delivered them afterwards. I think they enjoyed it, even if just for the visit.
Matt's 40th!
Matt turned 40 yesterday! It is kind of crazy. His birthday was just another day, unfortunately. He worked, then we went to a football game, then he worked, then had young mens. Finally at 8:30 we were all together and he could open his one present. Not a very eventful 40th, but that's life I guess. I am so grateful for this amazing man and all he does for me and our little family!
General Conference
Our family got tickets for the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference. I am the only one that had ever been so I was so excited. My kids were a little disappointed because it was the one session that the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square isn't there and President Nelsen hurt his back and announced that he would not be at the conference center. They felt like they were missing out on the two best reasons to watch in person, but it still was a good afternoon.
NOJH Football
Corbin was on the football team for NOJH this year. They didn't have a full team last year. This year they were just trying to get as many players as possible so they could have their own team instead of combine. They haven't won a game, but I think it has been a good experience. There are quite a few boys that have never played before this season. Corbin only played a few plays on special teams in the first few games, but yesterday he played corner and receiver for over half the game. It is kind of fun to see him out playing. I was the one who encouraged him to play when he first brought it up. I thought this would be his only chance to play football if he wanted to and I didn't want him to regret it. Then after he started playing and I watched the first scrimmage I was so nervous for him. He is so much smaller than the other boys. I really didn't want him to get hurt. He has had a ton of bruises over the past couple months, but nothing major. He was able to do practice everyday for two hours and still fit in all his fall soccer season. I don't know anything about football so watching the games was a little confusing, but I am so glad he tried it. Corb really worked hard and has been busy this season.
Frightmares
My mom and I took the kids to frightmares last weekend. Corbin had a football game that Matt was going to so I let Maggie and Kent invite a friend. It was so fun! We got there before it got too busy and were able to get right through the lines of the kids trick or treating. None of the lines were long for rides so we ended up staying for a few hours. I even bought my kids Lagoon food for the first time because we weren't ready to leave, but were hungry. Maggie and Abbi did their own thing the whole time. Kent and Halli stayed with us for trick or treating and then they did other rides while we stayed in kiddy land. It was a super fun night.
School Carnival
Claire was so excited for the carnival this year. She has gone to it in the past, but she was more excited now that it was her school. She is so social. She saw a lot of her new friends from Kindergarten there and I think she liked that more than any of the carnival. Van liked it fine, but is always drawn to the playground more than anything.
Maggie is a peer leader this year so she had to work the games. She was really hoping she would get to do the splash tank which she did.
Labor Day Swimming
Labor Day was cold this year, but we still did lunch and swam at Missy's. She had it heated pretty warm so it was steamy and fun. It probably didn't last as long as summer swimming, but it was a fun little afternoon. For some reason the pool made Van's eyes hurt way more than normal and Maggie's hair went completely crusty, but I am glad we were able to get in one more swim for the year.
