New Milestone!

Corbin has reached, or began, a new milestone. He took his first steps the other day. My mom set him down to walk to my dad no really even thinking about it and he did it! I missed the first set, but grabbed the camera for round too. He is able to walk about five or six steps before he gives up or loses his balance. He really is getting old!

(Don't worry, he wasn't hurt.)

He also that this new face he pulls that I just can't get enough of. He squints when he's bugged, or mad, or who knows why, but it cracks me up!

Locked Out (and in)

Pretty much my entire blog is all about Corbin, but here is a post dedicated to him. First off, my little man had quite the drama going on around him the other day and he didn't even know what was going on. My sister-in-law stopped by with her kids the other day. As they were leaving I noticed her daughter left her jacket so I ran it out to her, shutting the door behind me to keep Corbin in. Well it kept him in a little too well, I locked myself out and Corbin in. Matt is in Salt Lake with the other key and Melissa already drove off. I was so panicked. I have no neighbors on either side and the other two, who I don't even know, weren't home. I have no phone, no shoes, no idea what to do. I started taking a screen out of a window when Melissa pulled up because Max left his gun inside, thank goodness! She tried breaking in through the window and couldn't get it either. I could hear Corbin inside screaming (mainly because I went outside without him.) We grabbed the ladder to try another window with no luck. Finally a here a banging and she's in. Melissa had thrown herself into my back door breaking the dead bolt and our door frame, but she was in! I really didn't care how she got in, I was just so glad she was in. o Matt's weekend consisted of spending over five hours fixing our door. Remind me to always keep my door handle unlocked!

Almost One

Seriously, in less than a month my little baby will be one? He is starting to look like a little boy, but I still can't believe it has been a whole year.

Spring has delivered . . . Finally!

The Spring I know and love is finally here! Thank goodness for nice weather! Corbin LOVES to be outside. He can't really even do much but any time we walk inside he screams and screams. He is fascinated with bubbles, he loves to pop them. Just yesterday Matt and I were talking about the inevitability (word?) of kids getting hurt. How there isn't much you can do to prevent it, one way or another it will happen. I guess that was a good conversation to have so I didn't feel AS guilty about our fall today. I was holding Corbin and kicking his ball into the front yard. The ball starting rolling down our driveway so we chased it. I put my foot out to stop the ball and instead tripped right over it. We both tumbled to the ground. It wasn't that bad, but I felt awful. Corbin was screaming, his mouth covered in dirt, and he had four different scratches on his face and wrist. I took him inside to get him cleaned up but then he was even more upset that we went inside. So I had to get a rag and wash his face outside. Anyway, it really wasn't a big deal, he was fine two minutes later, but his first fall was totally my fault, I felt bad.

It actually looks slightly worse tonight than it did right after, hopefully nothing bruises for church tomorrow.
