Kindergarten Round Up

Maggie had Kindergarten Round-up on Wednesday. She was so excited! She opened her new bag and immediately started the Ms. Bindergarten book while we were waiting for it to start. She loved making her flower (which I took a picture of her while she was making it, but somehow it wasn't on my phone.) They did the assessment and she only missed four things on the entire paper. This girl is ready for Kindergarten.
Mrs. Meyer is one of the Kindergarten teachers at Green Acres. She lives by Mark and Marianne, was in my ward growing up, and I was friends with her daughter. She game over and said hi to Maggie and talked to her. After Maggie pointed Mrs. Meyer out to me and said, "Mom, that teacher, she knows you and she knows me too!"

Easter

We went to Pioneer Park in Plain City again this year for Easter with the Jenkins'. I actually really like that we stay close, especially this year because Maggie and Corbin both had soccer games that morning. After the games we headed out to the park. My kids got new kites, but there wasn't much wind. We got them up a few times for a minute, but overall not a good kite flying day.
After kites the kids dyed eggs. I am glad Marianne and Melissa started doing this because this year I have been a flake on holidays and we didn't do it as a family. So, luckily they were able to dye a few with their cousins.
The Easter egg hunt is always the highlight. The park was pretty busy this year, so we hid all the eggs inside the baseball diamond. I thought it would go pretty quick because they were just scattered around the grass, but it actually took a while for everyone to find their eggs. Matt finallyfound the last egg of about three kids because nobody else could see them. We walked near or over them multiple times.
Finally, our yearly picture of all the kids. This year they are sporting their clown noses that was in their eggs. Kent's clown nose wouln't stay on very good with his glasses on so he had to take them off for the picture. It is crazy to me how different he looks without them on.
After the park we headed over to my mom and dad's for their Easter party. We ate dinner and then played games. I missed most of the games because Kent was glued to my phone like always so I went and got him and then he went out to my car for something and peed in my car. So instead of watching and taking pictures of the games and pinata, I was bathing my two year old.
Then for the Easter egg hunt Kent had to go pantless. Which really isn't that big of a deal since he only wears pants about 20 percent of the time anyway.
It was a wonderful Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday the kids woke up before me and got to their baskets, so I didn't get any pictures. I didn't even take any dressed up for church either because about an hour before church I realized it was my turn to teach the primary lesson so I was scrambling to prepare that. As I taught the lesson to my five year olds I realized that Easter is the most amazing holiday! Because our Savior was resurrected we can be to, all of us, including my Emmett. I will see him again in perfect form because of my Savior Jesus Christ. This Easter took on a whole new meaning. How blessed I am to be a member of His church and have the knowledge and testimony of my loving Savior Jesus Christ!

Family Night

I normally don't have pictures of family home evenings, and we normally don't do anything to grand or special. Steph was pretty much the designated photographer for the night. This past week though, my dad had pruned trees at my grandpa's house so he asked us to help him pick up the branches. We used it for a little service for family night. It was super easy and only took about a half hour so afterwards we headed to Kirts for some ice cream and french fries. It was a fun night with cousins.

Maggie was the best helper. she picked up branches the whole time we were there. Then she kept informing everyone that the boys weren't helping and she was. I assured her that she would get more blessings. Then she proceeded to brag about how many more blessings she would get for helping and not playing. I love this girl!!

Maggie is five!

Maggie's birthday was over spring break. Her birthday celebrations lasted about the entire week too. We celebrated with the Jenkins' the Sunday before her birthday. We had cake and ice cream and she opened her presents from Mark and Marianne and Adam and Michelle.
Then on the morning of her birthday she was able to open one present. Then she had to wait to open the rest until that night when Matt was home.
For her birthday I gave her a few options of activities we could do and she chose Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake. I had never been there before, but heard it was fun. My mom and Steph and her kids came with us. We walked around and saw all the animals and the tractors. The kids rode on the little cow ride, which was super lame. Maggie rode on the wagon ride by herself because we ended up with an extra token somehow. It was much better, we all should have done it.
Kent was just obsessed with the tractors. I lost him a few times and he was sitting on one of the tractors every time. He could have been content there for hours.
I think Corbin liked the nature walk and being down by the river the best. It was so beautiful.
It was a really fun way to spend the day. My family could have stayed even longer and played at the park, but we headed home for more birthday fun.
As soon as Matt got home from work we let Maggie open her presents from us. Then my parents came up later that night and we had cookies and she got to open even more presents. I hope my kids realize how lucky they are to have such amazing family!

Hiking with Hank

A few weeks ago Matt had the day off. We went and borrowed Hank, Malcolm's dog, to take on a hike with us. My kids love Hank and had so much fun walking him. Corbin and Maggie kept taking turns holding his leash. Kent only kind of likes dogs. He is a little scared of them and Hank can jump up on Kent, and he really isn't too fond of that. Corbin has been begging for a dog so borrowing Hank is the next best thing. It was a beautiful day for a hike.  We went to the top of 36th street above Malcolm's house.
Corbin and Maggie were really good with him until he pooped. Then Corbin didn't really want anything to do with it. Matt cleaned it up with the bag that Maggie luckily brought, "just in case." Then Corbin had to carry it the rest of the way down to the trail head. He did it with out too much complaints! I think Matt was trying to show Corb that dogs aren't only fun.
Hank is a really good dog. I actually love to take him too. I even let him ride in our car (our car is so disgusting I was worried for Hank's safety!) I never really thought I would be a dog person, but I think I want one now. We have been promising Corbin a dog when he turns eight, so next year.
