Boating
We had so much fun boating this summer. My kids love the tube and always have fun on it, but by the end of the summer I made them try the knee board and Maggie loved it and pulled up on her knees multiple times. Kent I'm not so sure if he loved it, but he did it. Corbin never tried it, by the end of summer he was boated out. And my Claire got to nap at Grandma's every Monday we went boating. She did get out on the boat one time, even Grandma came that week! I even wake boarded and knee boarded last week. It was so fun! Although the next day I could tell I hadn't used those muscles in over ten years! My dad is seriously the best to take us out almost every week. Boating with cousins will be great memories!
Davis Vacation
This year my family went camping near the Cub River in Idaho. My little family had a super rough start. Matt was supposed to be home by two so we could leave. We had everything completely ready to go. Maggie asked if she could get Cougar out so we could leave right when Matt got home. About ten minutes before Matt got home Cougar ran away. I went and looked for him and then Matt looked for him for three hours. Finally we just decided to leave with him still gone. That was a bad idea, but my kids were so ready to leave (and unfortunately don't care about Cougar.) Matt didn't say anything the whole ride up. He was super ornery the whole night. He left as soon as he set up camp to go get cell phone service to see if any of our neighbors had seen Cougar.
That night while we were setting up tents Kent touched my dad's propane lantern and burned two fingers pretty bad. They blistered immediately. He was so hurt and sad he had a hard time going to sleep.
The next day we just played at camp. The river was perfect to play in and tube down for the kids, except it was freezing! The kids painted treasure boxes for a craft and Matt painted Gage. It was a gorgeous campground. Matt left again to nap Claire in the car and to find service to call about Cougar. My awesome neighbor saw Cougar in her backyard and called him into her car. Another neighbor met her at our house and put Cougar in his run. I was really glad he was back just because after that Matt enjoyed the vacation and was fun to be around again.
That night we went into Preston for the parade and the rodeo. I forgot how much I enjoyed rodeos, it had been so long. Claire did really good for about an hour and then she was done (it was already 9:30 pm and she had only napped in the car during the day.) Matt and I took Kent and Claire back to camp and Maggie and Corbin stayed with my parents.
Friday after breakfast we went to Downata pool. This was definitatly Claire's favorite part. The water was super warm and she had so much fun. All the kids loved it. They have some awesome slides and it wasn't at all busy.
Friday afternoon we played at camp. Shannon had boondoggle for the kids. That night we roasted marshmallows and had a little devotional around the fire.
Steph and Joe helped Kent make this weapon over the weekend. He was so thrilled.
Saturday morning we packed up and headed home. It was a great weekend. My kids had so much fun camping. Maggie slept in the trailer with my parents at night so she did great. Kent did amazing just bundled in his mummy bag in the tent.
24th of July
On Pioneer day Marianne rented the big waterslide. This years slide was the biggest yet. My kids absolutely loved it. They were on the slide almost non stop from noon to nine. They did stop long enough to eat lunch and dinner and that was pretty much it. After the waterslide, we walked next door to swim at Scott's house to celebrate Jud's birthday. Then we ended the night with the fireworks we never got to light on the fourth. Kent was so exhausted by the end of the night, but it was a fun day.
Claire was not a fan of the slide, or even the pools really. She still had fun when someone would play with her, especially if it was on the tramp.
Matt came after work and slid for a little while. He couldn't do too much because he bruised his ribs the week before at high adventure.
