Kent had strabismus surgery on March 16th. I took him to the eye doctor the week before and Dr. Bullard told me his eyes were pulling out and we needed to do surgery again. It was scheduled for that very next week. Matt took him and I stayed home with Claire, and to get the other two off to school. Matt just texted me a few updates during the day. He was home by about lunch time.
Kent's nurse was Leasa Wayment, who lives right by my mom and has been her friend since they were little. It was nice so to know the nurse that was taking care of Kent! Matt said all the nurses and doctors loved Kent. He was so well behaved and didn't even cry.
They put his IV in his leg, which I had never seen before.
His eyes were a little bruised and red, but nothing like the first time. This surgery was moving the outer eye muscles. He recovered so quick. Later on that day he was up running around with the other kids and the next day you would never have known he had just had surgery. Dr. Bullard said the surgery went well, but we don't actually know if it accomplished what he wanted it to until Kent's six week follow up appointment.
