Soccer

I have missed most of the spring season of soccer so far. I have had overlapping events every single week. I have made it to one of each Corbin, Kent, and Claire's. Claire's team couldn't all be at pictures, so we just took our own this week. She has improved a ton with soccer this year and seems somewhat interested in what is going on. Kent has been doing awesome this year. I thought we would switch him to comp this fall, but now he wants to try football so we are going to hold off another year. That will work good though, because Matt can coach both of them one more year. Corbin has been sick and has had a rough season. I hope he will hold out for one more year on the team he is on. I want him to at least play through ninth grade.

LADM

The plus track at the Dance Establishment does LADM convention and competition in Provo every year. This is Maggie's first year. It was long and made worse by the fact that Maggie was so sick over it. She performed her solo on Thursday afternoon. She didn't feel good at all and was so nervous to the point of forgetting her dance before she went on stage. Brandy came and asked me if I wanted her to even take Maggie backstage. I said yes and Maggie did great. She felt like she did bad, but she got a platinum ranking. We didn't stay for awards because we drove home to sleep good in our own beds that night. On Friday the girls had convention from 4 to 10:30. We drove back down to Provo for that. I dropped Mags off and then went and hiked to the Y with a couple other dance moms. It was so fun! It felt like a little girls night instead of another dance weekend. We got back in time to bring them dinner and then just hung out there until it was over. We had a hotel across the street which was nice because we got back at 11 and then had to be there again dressed and ready at 6:30 on Saturday morning for the competition. Maggie was feeling a little better for the comp and convention that day. The moms just stayed at convention this day and sat and talked the whole time. Maggie and I didn't stay for the final show though. She danced until 10:00 on Saturday night and then we headed home. The ride home was interesting. Maggie got a terrible bloody nose and I had to get off the freeway. We stopped at the side of the road for a bit and then we went to Maverik so she could clean up. It was at least 20 minutes before we started home again. It was a long weekend. Even though she was pretty sick, she still enjoyed it.

NOJH Track

Corbin had a little bit of a bummer track season this year. He started off at the first track meet, awesome with a PR on the 1600 of 6.12. He was in the 4x400 relay and they took 3rd. The next week he got so sick, with what everyone else in our family had over the last couple months. He missed track most of that next week because he was sick. The next week he was still coughing so hard, especially when he ran. He was still put in the 400, but wasn't able to perform as well as he would have liked. The season is only four weeks so being so sick for the majority of it was rough. He was able to run the mile in the last meet and get 6.27. Hopefully next year he will stay healthy and have a more enjoyable season.
