Reading Express Graduation

Corbin graduated from four year old preschool this week. I loved Miss Amber, she was such a great teacher. The canvas that he painted was my favorite part of the graduation, it is so so cute!
They all sang songs and then Miss Amber called each of them up and gave them their yearbook.
Corbin was so excited that after graduation all the kids got to play in Miss Amber's back yard. He had so much fun eating lunch with his friends and playing.
On the way home from graduation Corbin was so sad, he missed it already. He said, "Mom, even though Miss Amber made and oopsie on the calendar, she is still number one." I asked him to explain and he reminded me that she put the St. Patrick's day party on the 16th of March instead of the 17th when it really was, so she made an oopsie. I'm glad she is still number one. We loved this year of preschool, even with it being 15 minutes away three days a week.
Corb loves his graduation hat. He wore it the entire day yesterday. I had to convince him that he couldn't wear it to his t-ball game because he would have to wear a batting helmet. He put it right back on afterewards, and even wore it to bed. When I woke up this morning he had shorts, no shirt, and a graduation hat on. It was a hit.

Kent is ONE!

Kent turned one on May 13th. We had our traditional big birthday party, with both our families. Kent's theme was dinosaurs. He was really quite sad for the first half hour of his party. We had a dinosaur cake walk, and a dinosaur bean bag toss. He was thrilled when we got the the dinosaur cake though.
He dug right in (to one foot) . . .
. . . polished it off . . .
and got a second.
The first present he opened was his favorite, a vibrating, musical cow. It stole the show. I had to hide it to get him to open the rest of the presents.
The bean bag toss turned into a photo prop.
The pinata was last. I told Matt I felt like I short changed Kent for not making his pinata, but at least he got one. It definitatly wasn't as sturdy as our home made ones, but it completed its purpose and everyone got a few good hits at it.
Kent is the best baby. He is a decent sleeper, and always content and happy. He weighs 26.2 lbs, 87%, and is 30.75 in long, 78%. He is by far my biggest, tallest, happiest baby.

Southern Utah Half Marathon

Last weekend, Matt and Meredith, Michelle and Adam, Malcolm and Ellie, and Matt and I drove down to St. George for a little weekend getaway couples trip. Us girls ran the Southern Utah half marathon on Saturday morning.
I only slept for about an hour the night before the race, but I still met my goal of under two hours. I finished in 1:56, which is 26 minutes faster than my last half marathon. That is kind of deceiving because I didn't train for my last one and trained for 12 weeks for this one, but it still sounds cool. I was beat by the end though. Everyone was passing me on the last stretch as they started sprinting to cross the finish line and I was just hoping to keep my same pace from slowing down.
It was a way fun race, and a super pretty course. It was overcast and rained for just a minute, so perfect running weather, especially for St. George. The rest of the trip I was sad it was such stormy weather, but we enjoyed the hot tub and pool and the outlets. It was a way short trip from Friday at 1:30 until Sunday around 3:00, but a well needed break.
