AF Canyon Half Marathon

Meredith and I signed up for a half marathon months ago. I was super excited for it. I have been going to Gold's Gym for months training for that and just loving my break time at the gym. After Disney World my kids were sick for so long that I never got back into training. The week before the race I ran seven miles just to see if I could do it and it was so hard! The only reason we still ran it was because we signed up with Meri's cousin's who were running for their sister. Two of them are cancer survivors and the other sister has cancer right now. The AF canyon run is to raise money for cancer. I ended up running it, even without training. It was hard! The last few miles after we came out of the canyon had quite a few little hills that made it super hard. I did fine until mile eight and by mile ten I was so done. Luckily then I was able to catch up to Meri again and we walked/jogged the last three miles. The very end I was able to run at a pretty good pace because the 2:20 pacer came up behind me and I wanted to finish before her! We finished at 2 hours 18 minutes.
After the race made it all worth it. We found Lee and Bonnie, Meri's aunt and uncle, and their family. We watched Carlee cross the finish line. It was so amazing! She was 100 days out from her bone transplant and is currently cancer free! The whole race was pretty inspiring and overall a fun one to be a part of.

Lagoon Day

Matt's work does a Lagoon Day every year now. We had so much fun this year. Since we don't have passes, we made a whole day out of it. It made it so nice that Kent could go on so much more this year. Our whole family was able to do Rattle Snake Rapids and a lot of the rides he couldn't last year. We did get stuck on Odysea for a while which I was not in love with, but we made the best of it. Corbin was also able to do rides this year that he couldn't last year. He and Matt rode Wicked and the roller coaster. Kent's favorite was Bombora and they all rode that one about ten times. It was a perfect day because it wasn't busy, there were hardly any lines. We even hit up Lagoon-A-Beach for a few hours before dinner. We were able to fit a ton in to our day and we all had a blast.

Corbin turned SEVEN!

I have a seven year old! The Sunday before his birthday we celebrated at the Jenkins' and this floating turtle was a hit! Now all my kids have an animal floaty.
On his birthday he only got one present because it was a super nice new bike! He really wanted a black lab but when he realized that wasn't actually going to happen he changed his asking to a bike. Smart move! He loves it and does great on it. It is definitely a step up from what he had before and he rides like a champ!
The rest of the morning was spent bike riding. Then he asked to go swimming for his birthday. I invited Meri's family and we went to North Shore for the afternoon. Kenna wasn't there which was a bummer for Corbin, but we all still had fun.
That night my parents came over and gave him a new camera, which he has loved and swim goggles.
Corb was a really good sport about his cake. He wanted a ninja, but my frosting turned out pink instead of red so I told him I would make him a monster. Then I didn't have the right stuff so it just looked like a cake with pink and purple balls on it. Oh well, it tasted great!

Memorial Day Swimming

Every year the Jenkins' go swimming at the Clearfield aquatic center for Memorial Day. We go out to lunch first and then go swimming. We didn't stay for too long this year because we were also going to my mom's that night. My kids had so much fun with their new swimming animals though. The big kids loved them too, I think they were being used the entire time we were there.

Coach Pitch baseball

This year was Corbin's first year of coach pitch baseball. Some days he loved it and some days he hated it. We missed three games because of Disney World and sickness, but he was still able to play a lot. He is improving a lot. He has a really good arm and only had to hit off the tee twice the whole season. Once he realized Max and Missy love baseball, he enjoyed it even more. He told me he wants to play again next year.

Family Pictures Spring 2017

I had my friend from my old stake in Ogden, Jami, take our family pictures this year. I normally only do my kids yearly pictures in the spring, but she was the same price to do individuals and family photos together. I am super happy with them.
Corbin is almost seven, Maggie is five, and Kent is three. Emmett would be nine months right now, so hard to believe!
My kids are getting so old! Especially Corbin. Over the last few months he has seemed so much older and just like one of the older boys. Kent is definitely not a baby any more either. It is crazy how old they all are.
Matt and I haven't had pictures taken together for a long time, I love this one!

Preschool Graduation

Maggie graduated from Ms. Helen's preschool on May 24th. She loved preschool and Ms. Helen, but is so ready to start Kindergarten. Her and Maybree were able to be in preschool together this year. It was super fun. We carpooled on the way home most days, not because it was convenient but the girls liked it. I like Ms. Helen's preschool, but she is super old school.

Ms. Helen has them walk across the bridge as part of graduation. It had some symbolic meaning, but I don't remember exactly what it was.

Matt and Kent ended up staying home because Kent was sick. Corbin went even though he didn't want to.
