All Smiles . . .

Maggie is such a happy little girl! All smiles and giggles . . .

. . . until Corbin joins in the fun. He means well, usually, he just is a little in-your-face and rough sometimes.
He'll toughen her up in a hurry and they will be great little playmates. Until then, I'll do my best to keep my eye on them.

Summertime

I love Summer. There is so much to do. We had Matt's work swimming party last weekend. I didn't think Corbin would enjoy it because he did not like swimming lessons at all. I was so wrong; he absolutely loved it! Everyone was commenting on him being a little fish. He kept trying to squirm out of our arms because he wanted to swim on his own.

I am so not a fan of the wind, but the other day we made the best of it and went to fly a kite. We should have picked a field instead of the church parking lot; too many trees and power lines. I felt a little guilty having Matt climb one of the churches trees, but Buzz Lightyear was stuck.
And another great part of summer is just lounging on the grass. This was after a summer rain had soaked him through. He loved stomping the puddles to see how high he could splash.

Maggie is still around too.  She misses out on all our fun, but she has her own fun inside. She is one happy little girl, wide eyed and smiley.

Independence Day

The Festivities continue with more cute outfits. Corbin slept in because he had such a late night so we missed the parade and breakfast. By the time we were all ready is was about ten, so we got quite a late start for the 4th.
We headed down to Warren with Steph and Joe and my dad to do their obstacle course. Corbin was a little too young for it. Joe and Matt raced each other and then me and Steph. I got the slowest time of everyone. Matt would have won, except he knocked down four poles, which were a five second penalty for each. It is a fun obstacle course and Warren isn't nearly as busy as Plain City.

Then we went back up to Plain City's celebration to let Corbin try some games more suited to him. Skee Ball wasn't it, but he loved throwing the balls.
That night we did fireworks at my parent's house. Corbin loved them this night because he was able to sit on Matt's lap the whole time. He kept asking for more.
The next day I paid for the two late nights. Corb was so tired and onery, and I was still super tired too. Holidays are so much fun, but a ton of work.

Let Freedom Ring!

There is so much that goes into the Independence Day Holiday, it is kind of a crazy one. The night of the third we went to Plain City's dinner with Matt's family. I had some outfits for my kids to wear and Marianne bought them some, so they were dressed for the holiday both nights.
Maggie and Grandpa hanging out at Lee Olsen Park after dinner.
We did fireworks at Jay and Barb's house that night. Last year we put Corbin to bed so this was his first experience with fireworks. The sparklers were great, he had a ton of fun.
The bigger, louder fireworks, not so much. He was way scared of them. He didn't cry, but he kept pointing inside and didn't want Shelly to set him down. I ended up taking both of my kids back to Mark's house because they both hated the noise.
