Seven Months

What!?! How is Claire already seven months old? At her six month well child visit she was 15.1 pounds (30%) and 25.9 inches (52%.) She is still my best baby, but is getting a littler fussier than she used to be. I am hoping she is getting teeth. She is finally starting to go to bed earlier! Thank goodness! Those 11-12 o'clock nights were rough for me. She sleeps through the night most nights and is overall a super happy little girl!
She loves her sister, who might give her a little too much love sometimes. She also loves to watch Cougar. She is starting to love her daddy a lot too. She cries when he comes in from work and walks right past her. She is still only army crawling, but can also pull her self up onto things. We love our Claire Bear!

No More Boot!

I took Kent back to Primary Children's orthopedic clinic on Monday. They took x-rays and I met with his PA. He said Kent's leg looked great and we could start to ween him off his boot. We are all super excited to say goodbye to that awful boot. No more carrying him from the tub (he is a solid boy!) No more getting toes stepped on or broken glasses.
Kent took his boot off in the car and I was able to get him to put it on for an hour later that day and it has been off since. He is barely limping at all and hasn't said that it is at all sore. Hopefully we have more than a year before his next break.
I have been promising him for the last eight weeks that he will be able to do a few of the things he missed over the summer when his boot comes off. Today he wanted to do his slip and slide. He and Cougar both enjoyed it!

First Day of School

School started back up again last week. I am one excited mama! Corbin is in third grade and has Mrs. Teller. Maggie is in first grade and has Mrs. Garner. Kent is in preschool with Ms. Helen again. They were all excited and ready to go back. Kent was really sad that after I dropped off the older two he had to wait another 30 minutes before he could go. He slumped his shoulders and said "Oh boy! I have to wait until sunset!"
Claire and I had big plans for the two and a half hours that the other three were in school. But it went by rather quickly while we were at Sam's Club and we did nothing else.  They all enjoyed their first day and we are off to a great year!

Lava Hot Springs

My family vacation this year was at Lava Hot Springs. We stayed at the School House Inn, which was a rental property that used to be the school house. It was super old and outdated, but it was fun. It even had a huge gym inside. The first night we got there and unpacked and then went to the Chuck wagon Restaurant for dinner. My kids were a little hungry and whinny. I remembered why I don't like to take them to sit down restaurants. It was really good food though.I love these vacations when all the cousins get to spend so much time together.
Thursday we headed to the pool for the day. My kids love the water. Any type of water, especially pools, they are crazy! Diving boards, slides, and just swimming. Matt was the only one in my little family that braved the platforms. Claire stayed back at the house with my parents and napped instead of swimming with us this time.
There was a lightning storm that moved in that afternoon so the pool had to be closed. I was excited actually, because I was done swimming, but my family could have stayed longer. We packed up and were loaded my dad's truck. I had set my phone on the tailgate and hadn't noticed it fell in between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. I slammed the tailgate to shut it and it wouldn't shut all the way. When I looked it had completely cracked and broke my phone. I couldn't get it to turn on at all. So I have been without a phone since Thursday afternoon.
Friday we went tubing down the river. My kids loved that too. Maggie thought she was a Moyes for this entire trip so she only went down with Bryce and Grace. The double tubes were definitely my favorite. Kent never wanted to get off. The quad tube he was on hit into another tube and the lady on it was teasing and told our kids they owed them $20 for each person on the tube they just hit. Kent turned to them and said, "Sorry, I forgot my wallet!" Those people thought he was hilarious.
Claire enjoyed hanging out at the park this day with my parents and whoever else wasn't tubing at the moment. I am lucky to have such a happy little girl!
That afternoon everyone (except me) went to visit Chesterfield. An old pioneer settlement. I stayed back to prepare dinner for everyone. My kids really enjoyed the little tour.
The rest of the time was spent hanging out at the house. We played games, watched movies, and chatted. It was a wonderful weekend!
