Maggie is ONE!!!

It's hard to believe my baby is one! Maggie turned one on Saturday, but because of General Conference, we held her party on Friday night. I have to say, it was a good one. Corbin's first party was fun, I will never forget the broccoli pinata, but it was mostly Matt's doings. This one was purely my time and effort and I had so much fun putting it together. She had a cupcake themed party.
I made Pin the Candle on the Cupcake. We didn't spin any of the kids, so it wasn't too hard for them, all the boys pretty much tied because they felt around until they knew they were on top. Maggie liked pulling everything off much more than putting it on. She pulled the whole cupcake off the wall to enjoy.
We had a cupcake walk, with super cute cupcakes. Michelle played birthday songs on the piano as they walked around. We ended with four winners because on the last one, no one would move, they all just stood still on the cupcake.
I was planning on buying her pinata, but couldn't find just what I wanted to ended up making it from scratch, paper mache and cupcake liners. It turned out significantly better than Matt and my attempt with Corbin's killer whale. (Don't remember the whale? Look here theparty.) I was quite proud of it. Although it would have just as cheap and not nearly as time consuming to buy a pinata, it was worth it!
By the time we did presents she was getting pretty tired, She did love her new kitchen though. I felt like it was a little much for a birthday gift, but we didn't really have any better ideas. And I like the ones that will last, much more than just buying something to buy it.
I liked having the pinata before gifts. Most of the kids were still distracted with their favors and candy so Maggie opened her presents without too much smothering.
Corbin helped Maggie blow out her birthday candle because by this time she was done . . .
until she got to eat the cupcake, then she was interested.
Happy Birthday Maggie! Can't believe you are already one!
Maggie is walking all over the place! It is her main form of transportation now, yay for no more crawling! She has four top teeth and two bottom teeth. She is a happy girl, but clingy to me and especially Matt. Oh, how I love her!
