Frightmares

Matt and I took our kids to Frightmares on Friday night. They were terrified! We only went through one haunted house (the first thing we did there.) Kent and Maggie were both crying and Corbin was trying to be very composed, but still super scared. Kent liked looking at all the spooky things, but he hated the creepy people walking around. Maggie just hated all of it.

After the haunted house we did the kid friendly trick or treat walks. The kids loved those. Then we hit up a few rides and were done. Claire hated it. It got cold quick and she was stuck in her stroller with tons of people around. We didn't last too long but I am still glad we went.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins on Saturday after all the soccer games. Kent still hated the guts this year. Corbin and Maggie both did a great job carving their own pumpkins. We carved the one pumpkin each that we picked out at the pumpkin patch, but Matt wanted more and bigger ones so he ran to the store and bought more. He and the kids each carved one more. We were outside cleaning pumpkin cuts and carving for almost five hours. It was the most perfect fall day! Claire even spent the majority of the day outside with us.

Monday night for family night Marianne bought all the kids pumpkins and we carved again over at Meri's. Our porch was nicely decorated with 12 pumpkins this year.

Corn Maze

Kent had a field trip to the corn maze at the fish farm a few weeks ago. It was during fall break so I was able to take all my kids. We did great during the actual corn part of the maze and my kids were having fun. We went into the haunted house part and it is a much spookier and harder maze. After about 10 minutes Maggie was starting to get stressed that she couldn't get out. I am terrible at mazes! I really don't ever know how to get out, but we made it through the entire thing in about a half hour, so it was a great success!
I love that my kids get to pick out small pumpkins at this field trip every year. Later that day they spent time painting them, so it took up a great portion of our first day of fall break.

Reflections

Maggie wrote a story called "I Saw Super Heroes" for Reflections this year. She did a great job. It was very literal, but cute. I didn't help her at all, except for a little help with typing it. She was second in Excellence for literature and got a trophy, candy bar, and clay at the gala. The boys were super jealous of everything she got and plan on participating next year.

I saw super heroes!
I walked down the street and then two Super heros came. and said my Name is red my Name is Lin said the Superheros. I love walking around they said. they still were around me. it was fun to talk. I said mom i saw two superheros mom i really did see some superheroes to day. they got around me. and then a accident happened the superheros rushed to get there. They saved a girl and then they flew back to me and made the circle again and i found out that girl was my friend May. and then we talked even more that time. Then I came back to mom and told mom the story about the superheroes.

Soccer

Kent had his first season of AYSO soccer this fall. Corbin and Maggie played too. Matt coached both Corbin and Kent so I went to all of Maggie's games and very few of the boys. I only saw Corbin once and I saw one and a half games of Kent's. I don't always love having seven Saturdays in a row taken up with soccer, but I do like watching my kiddos play. I think Kent enjoyed having something of his own finally.
