Goodbye CSI

Five years ago, 17 and just out of high school, I started working at Calendar Systems, Inc. (The date on the picture is wrong. I don't know exactly when this was, but I know it was within the first few months.)
Well, yesterday I said goodbye. Crazy it's been five years. In some ways I feel like I have been there forever and sometimes I can't believe how fast it has gone by. It was a great job to put me through school. I was the afternoon receptionist so I was able to go to Weber State in the mornings. When I graduated they offered me a full time position, so it has always worked great for me. In that five years, I worked for Calendar Systems, CSI Printing, Crossroads Printing, and Crossroads fitness, but all that changed for me was the way I answered the phone. I started as a receptionist, moved to inputting, back to reception, to customer service and moved back to reception. I started with no where near enough work to keep me busy for the five hours I was there and ended up barely being able to get everything done in the ten hours I was at work. I moved around a lot and had a chance to get to know some great people. I have to admit though, I couldn't be happier to say goodbye! I am so ready to be done.

36 weeks . . . plus some

I am 36 weeks plus a few days. I went to the doctor last Wednesday and was dilated to a 2 and 90% effaced, so hopefully I don't have a full four weeks left.

I had my first shower on Saturday. I actually have stuff for Corbin now! I haven't bought anything because I wanted to wait until after my showers. It hadn't bothered me until the last couple of weeks. I started to get a little worried that if he came early he wouldn't have anything. No carseat, diapers, wipes, clothes, nothing. Thank goodness for wonderful family and friends. My shower was wonderful.

I got so much great stuff. Thank you to everyone who came and especially my sisters and mom for all the work they put into throwing it for me. Thanks Shannon for taking pictures, I had to steal these from her blog.

Makenna's One

I'm a little slow, but Makenna turned one on May 8th. I think all the other kids were way more excited than she was. Morgan didn't want to give up any of the new toys.

She is walking all over the place now. She looks so tiny to be all over the place like she is, but it is so cute.

The Grand Canyon

Matt wanted to do a boys trip before Malcolm left on his mission so he planned a hike through the Grand Canyon. Friday morning all the boys packed up the suburban and made the nine and a half hour drive to the Canyon. They started their hike about 6:50 am and hiked until almost 7:00 pm. Crazy boys! Who really has the desire to hike for twelve hours. Then as soon as they were done, they all packed up and drove home, that very night. Matt got home about 5:00 am Sunday morning. He had it the best because he was able to sleep until about 12:30. The first Sunday I have enjoyed having one o'clock church. The rest of the boys had to be to church by 11:00.
I have to admit I am very proud of Matt. For being an all boys trip I wasn't expecting too many pictures. I had to remind him to even pack a camera. But he did very well, he came home with almost 50 pictures.
Besides one missing wedding ring and hat, the hike was completed without any incidences. There were a few sore muscles at dinner on Sunday, but I think they are glad they did it, for the most part. Matt has already started to think about next years hike . . . the narrows, a different route in the Grand Canyon? We'll see.
