Standing Tall

I took Maggie to her six month appointment last week. She is 46% for weight, 16.2 lbs; 67% for height, and 75% for her head. I can't believe she is already six months and then I look at what she is doing and can't believe she is only six months. She is crawling all over the place and will not sit still. Her latest thing is standing up on everything and anything she can find. She is a skilled climber, but doesn't know how to get down. So she gets stuck on all the toys, stools, or whatever she finds and is always getting hurt.
I love this cute girl! She looks so big standing up.

She is sleeping better, which is the greatest news of all. She can now put her self to sleep most of the time. The last two nights she has woken up multiple times, but I didn't have to go get her. She fell back asleep within minutes. So I have only been up once to feed her for two nights. Finally! We will cut out the last feeding eventually, but one is do-able.
She has her two bottom teeth. Let's hope the rest come in all at once because I don't think she can be much more miserable than she was getting two. She might as well get them all out in one shot and only be unbearable for a few days. If only . . .

Dash

Corbin's Dash costume is done! I have had it mostly done for a few weeks, but last night I wanted to finish it completely and try it on him, so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. It was really easy to actually put together, but it was a pain finding everything it needed. It really didn't save me any money either. The only reason I did make it was because the smallest Dash costume I could find to buy was a 3T and that would drown this little guy. Anyways, I am very pleased with the result. The only thing I would have done differently was not use felt. I put all that work and I can't even wash it and reuse it. Maybe one day I will switch it out for washable fabric.
And he loves it! Which is the most important. He was ticked when I made him take it off. Maybe after Halloween he can wear it all the time and trash it.

Carnivore Carnival

My family all went to Dinosaur Park on Thursday for the Carnivore Carnival. Matt had some homework, so I took the the kids. I wish Matt could have been there because Corbin was scared of everything. He was asking to go home in the parking lot before we even started because he was scared of the costumes.
He dressed up as a robot, yes, the same costume as last year. I am not too happy about it either. He wanted to be Dash, off of The Incredibles, so I made our whole family incredibles costumes and he refused to wear it. He better wear it on Halloween because it was a pain and ended up being a lot more money than I expected.

They had the whole park decorated. There were vendors with games and candy. Beau and Corbin coloring their masks, just one of the art projects.

Sunday Best

His first week in a white shirt and tie. Gotta love it!

Harvest Party

We headed up to Huntsville last Saturday for the annual Harvest Party. My aunt and uncle go to so much work for this party, and it is one of the highlights of the month. I love seeing cousins that I rarely see anymore. The food is always delicious, with way too many yummy treats. Maybe next year we will join in with the pumpkin carvers and be able to stay late enough for the pinata.
Matt and I went shopping for beanies for the kiddos before the party, and I am very pleased with our purchases. Maggie looked so cute with her bunny ears and Corb picked out his own monster hat.
Neither Matt or I wanted to go on the hayride, so Grandma took Corbin. He had a ton of fun, but i could not get him to smile.

Hard at Work

Grandpa Davis and Corbin hard at work filling in a hole. I asked my mom where dad was and she told me he was out pruning roses. I look outside to check on Corb, and this is what I found.
Grandpa didn't get his roses pruned this day, but Corbin thinks Grandpa is AWESOME!

Montana

Last weekend our family went up to Montana to visit Austin and Shawnee. We drove up through Yellowstone, so it took 12 1/2 hours to get there. It was a long ride! Corbin loved it! He got to watch three movies in one day, so he thought he was in heaven. Maggie was miserable! She hates to be in her car seat while she is awake. We only stopped every three hours for a few minutes to feed her and get out and stretch. She was happy the second she got out, and ticked the minute she was back in her seat.

For most of Yellowstone she rode on either Matt or my lap or else she would have screamed the whole way. We headed up to Old Faithful and pulled up right as it was finishing going off, so we missed that. This is the best time of year for Yellowstone though. It was beautiful! We even saw a bear with her two cubs, along with elk, buffalo, and deer.
The road we were supposed to take to cut through the park was closed so we ended up taking a huge detour out the north entrance instead of the northeast; that put us a little behind. Finally at 8:30 pm we pulled up to Austin and Shawnee's house. I asked Corbin to get out and he said, "No, vroom vroom!" Which meant he wanted to keep driving, WHAT?! We have been in the car for 12 1/2 hours, now get out!

Up in Montana we just hung out most of the time. Saturday night we went to a little zoo in Red Lodge. The animals are all old and were pretty mellow, except the mountain lion that wanted to attack Matt. Matt thought it was funny to provoke it, good thing he was in a cage.

I love when Maggie falls asleep in my arms, it is so rare. I was soaking up every minute of this precious girl.
We went to the Green's for home made ice cream after dinner and Corbin got to drive their cool Jeep. It took him a minute to want to drive it, but then he loved it. He kept trying to run Shawnee over.
The ride home was much more pleasant. We went through West Yellowstone to Idaho Falls.
It only took 9 1/2 hours. Maggie did a lot better too. She must have been worn out because she slept all the way from Blackfoot, Idaho to Pleasant View. Corb loved watching his movies again.
Overall, our kids did awesome! It was a fun trip, 1155 miles later.
