Picking Pumpkins

Marianne took us all to Weston's Pumpkin patch for each of the kids to pick out a pumpkin. My kids were very excited that they could pick whatever one they wanted. Maggie chose a huge one.
We were just leaving when the owners came home and gave our kids a train ride. My kids were so excited!

Corn Maze Field Trip

Maggie had her first field trip for Ms. Helen's preschool today. My kids have been sick, so I debated going or not, but it was a much needed break. I figured it was outside and we stayed away from everyone. It was just what we needed. The kids had a ton of fun and it got us out of the house, if only for one hour. I remembered how terrible I am at directions and mazes, we were the last ones out. It was tricky to keep Kent going the same way as us, so that is what I blame it on.
Corbin really wanted to go fishing, but we had to settle on feeding the fish, which he was fine with. Poor baby Kent is my excuse for everything. Corbin is going to learn not to love Kent because of all the stuff he can't do because Kent is with us. Good thing they really are good buddies.
Kent made me nervous, so he had to sit far enough away his fish food barely made it into the water, but he loved the fish.

Matt's Birthday

Matt turned 32 on Sunday. Birthdays for Matt and I are usually pretty uneventful, but finally after years of asking, I got Matt what he wanted: binoculars. I told my kiddos I was going to buy them for Matt a few days before his birthday, bad idea. Matt totally pried it out of them, so then I told him I wouldn't get him the binoculars, but I couldn't not, he literally has wanted them for years.
My kids couldn't wait to give Matt his present, probably because it is the first one we have given him in years. They didn't know what it was either, so they were excited. I had to go buy it when they were both at school to keep it kind of a secret that I did actually buy them.

Soccer

Corbin started AYSO soccer this year. He was so excited to start, especially because Mason was still living with us and he is a huge soccer fan. He would always ask Corb updates on how his games went. Matt was the coach, which made it more fun for Corbin, but awful for Kent and me on the sideline. If I took my eyes off of him at all, Kent would be in the middle of the soccer field trying to get to Matt.
Corbin has done really well. He scored one goal his first game, which he was thrilled about. He scored in almost every game. He actually will get in there and take the ball more than I thought he would. He really has enjoyed it too, not as much as I thought he would, but I think the better he gets the more he will like it. He likes it the most when Max, Mason, or Grandpa ask him about it.
All but one of the team members are in Kindergarten this year, so it is nice that he has some time outside of school with his friends.
