Labor Day

Marianne rented a water slide for Labor Day. It was much cooler than the last time, but it was still super fun. The kids didn't mind the cold too much as long as they were running up and down the slide.
Maggie said she liked it, but I'm not sure if she loved it. She played on the tramp or in the pool most of the day.
Kent napped most of the time, but when he woke up, he loved it. He didn't even know where to go. He would walk between the water slide, the tramp, and the pool, trying to decide which would be the most fun. He loved the slide, as long as I was careful not to scream in his ear while we were going down.
Then it was the adults turn. It is actually a super fun slide, even for grown ups!
We also celebrated Maybree's fourth birthday with Tanya's wonderful cake creation.

First Days of School

Both Maggie and Corbin are in school now. Maggie started three year old preschool with Ms. Helen. She was so excited! Not at all nervous, just pure excitement. The first day Ms. Helen came to the car and got Maggie out and Maggie happily went with her. When she got back in the car she told me she had tons of fun. She played with Jace, a boy in her class. They had snacks downstairs on the table not even in the kitchen. And she told me that tomorrow she gets to paint, which is what she has been most excited for.
Corbin started Kindergarten at Green Acres with Mrs. Jensen. He was really nervous, but also very excited. He wanted to pick out his clothes the night before and make sure everything was ready. I walked him to the door in the morning and stood with him until he hung up his book bag. He told me he couldn't remember where his chair was, but his teacher helped him, He found Colton from his soccer team at recess and talked to him. Hafez, also from his soccer team, wanted someone to play with so Corbin told him he would play. When I picked him up I couldn't get many more details than that. They had only half of a graham cracker for a snack and he can't remember the rest. When we got home he was excited to unload his book bag and give me all the papers I need to read and show me the list of sight words they will learn this year. I asked him if he loved it and he said "Yes, and I get to go back tomorrow!"
