Boating, my long lost friend!

My dad got his boat registered this year for the first time in years. I have only been boating once since I have been married and it was with friends, so I was so excited. My kids instantly loved it and it made me realize how much I miss it!
The first week I went out with just Corbin and Shannon, Beau and Kael. He was so much braver than I expected. He loved this knee board, after the first minute or two. I didn't even have a swimming suit on so we only stayed out for about an hour.
The next week I took Maggie and Corb. Maggie was so adorable! I couldn't get enough of her. She was waiting for Grandpa to get home from work on Monday morning. As soon as she saw him in his backyard she frantically yelled, "Grandpa home, boating, jacket!" As she ran to get her life jacket.
Then everyone was in the boat and she was still buckled in her carseat. She was all upset that we were going to leave her, 'Maggie boating!"

The entire time we were on the boat, she was just as entertaining. "Grandpa boat fast!" Corbin loved being in his new life jacket this time. It was a blast!

First hair cut

Kent's hair was driving me crazy, but Matt asked me not to cut it until after his blessing day. So first thing Monday morning after Kent's blessing it was hair cut time. His hair was seriously out of control. It was so long and crazy.

After
I have to admit I missed the craziness at first, but it needed to be done. I texted Matt a picture saying 'our short hair stud.' He texted me back: 'he's getting big.' He obviously wasn't too pleased with the cut. What do you do?

Kent's blessing

Kent Earl Jenkins was blessed on July 6th, by Matt. It was such a great day. Almost all of our family was there. We had church at 9:00 am and Matt had all of his meetings that morning, so it was a little crazy. I didn't have time to take any pictures, so luckily I snapped this one when I tried his clothes on him earlier in the week.
Matt always gives such wonderful blessings. Of course, I can't remember anything he said, but I did love it.
We stayed for all of church so we took just a few pictures outside before my family left. I liked that we stayed at church after, but I am sad we didn't get more pictures. Mark had to leave right after the blessing so we didn't get any of Matt's parents. Corbin was being bribed with a full size candy bar to smile for one picture and we still didn't have success.

And this not so wonderful picture. At least it is a picture of my whole family, even if it's the only one.
I snapped this one at our dinner we had at our house later that night. We had all of our family over in our back yard. Most of them had to leave early, but it is always fun to have everyone up in our backyard.
I have the best family ever! I love my three kids and all of mine and Matt's family. This was such a perfect day.

4th of July

I love the 4th of July, but I don't know why. I hate my kids off schedule and I hate heat. But the fourth is still a fun holiday. My kids and me went to the dinner at the park on the 3rd with Matt's family. Matt was still at Scout Camp until later that night. It was pretty windy, so I actually left Kent at my moms house.
After dinner we went back to Marianne's house for fireworks. My kids loved the sparklers this year. These are usually the only fireworks we see for the year. Then Matt, Corbin, and Maggie slept outside at Grandma Jenkins' with everyone else. Kent and I had a sleepover at my moms so we didn't have all the commotion of everyone, but didn't have to drive out in the morning before the parade. I hate the sleepover tradition, but it is one of Matt's favorite and is quickly becoming one of my kids favorite. I actually like it, I just hate how tired my kids are on the 4th.
The morning of the fourth, we watch the parade by my moms house. Kent just slept the whole parade, Maggie and Corbin had a lot of fun. I loved the outfits Marianne bought this year. Everyone looked so cute.
After breakfast at Jay and Barbara's we went to the park for a few hours. Maggie was so tired that she didn't do hardly anything. Well, there wasn't really anything to do. I was very unimpressed, there were only like three games in the whole park.
Maggie did win a Sprite though, so she was quite pleased.
Corbin was set on getting his hair painted again this year. With the help of Melissa (we left the line for a snow cone break while she waited) we waited for 40 minutes to get his hair sprayed blue. He pretty much thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Then to top of the day off we spent the afternoon swimming at my moms.
We were all beat by the end of the day. We left about 5:00 to get the kids in bed early, Matt loaded Corbin in the car and before we pulled out of the driveway he was already asleep. It was a long hot day, but lots of fun.
