24th of July

For our Pioneer Day celebrations, my family all went over to Bryce and Erin's for a picnic and pool party. It was Corbin's first time in the pool and he didn't like it quite as much as his dad had hoped he would. It was so cute to see him in the water though, even if it was only for a minute.
We had the kid's pool and the bigger pool for the adults, which ended up having everyone in it. Bryce also pulled out the slip 'n slide for the kids. Beau loved it, but Grace thought it was more fun to drink from it than actually use it - she must have been pretty thirsty.

Matt told me to grab my camera and come take a picture of him doing 'stuff.' I am never quite sure what he has in mind, but the next thing I know he does his count down and slides right out of the pool. I guess he was supposed to be an Orca whale. It was actually pretty funny.

First Cut-off

Matt had Corbin while I was at mutual a couple of weeks ago. Matt decided at five weeks Corbin was most definitely due for his first cut-off outfit. So they ventured down to Walmart together and came back with a new $5 outfit. Matt made it into a cutoff "workout" shirt. Too bad he can't really use it for that, Corbin wouldn't be hurting if he worked off a pound or two.

Seborrheic Dermatitis

I had never even heard of Seborrheic Dermatitis until Tuesday. Last weekend Corbin's face started to get all dry and crusty. It seriously looked so sad. By Sunday it was too the point of bleeding because it was so dry. I finally took him into the pediatrician on Tuesday (after it already looked a ton better) and she said he had Seborrheic Dermatitis, basically cradle cap on his face. The only thing I can do is wipe his face off with a warm wash cloth every day. This picture doesn't even do it justice. It was taken on Tuesday and it had already cleared up significantly.
Corbin was weighed at the doctors office and came in at 11 lbs 1 oz. He gained just over three pounds in three weeks! All this boy does is eat. At least I know he's not lacking, but seriously? He can easily eat five ounces ever three hours. My pediatrician told me that is way too much, but if I give him three or even four like she said, he just screams and screams. He is already a pretty fussy baby. He fooled me the first two weeks; he was such an angel. Then he went to straight formula and never slept, just cried. Matt misses out on most of the fun, so I had to take a picture to let him know just what goes while he is working.
My computer is broken so I haven't been able to update for a while, this is just a catch up photo. Isn't he just a little man?

New Camera

For my birthday Matt gave me a new SLR camera. We wanted to get it before Corbin was born. We went to multiple stores many times, but never could bring ourselves to spend that much on a camera. I was so excited when Saturday night he came home with it. Thanks to Corbin I haven't had much time to play with it, but these are a few of the pictures from Sunday dinner at the Jenkins.
This is the first picture I have of just Corbin and Grandpa, I love it!

I still have a lot to figure out with my camera, but I am so excited! I love the quality of SLRs, they really are so great.

Motherhood: An Eternal Partnership with God

Motherhood: An Eternal Partnership with God

This was on the home page of lds.org, but I had to share because I loved it. I don't know how to put the actual clip on my page so just click the link.

Four days of the Fourth

I liked having the fourth on a Sunday this year, it made the holiday seem a lot longer. We had four days of Celebration instead of the normal two. It was a great holiday, even if Corbin did make me miss both of my favorite parts - we were too late too see the parade and he started screaming right before Fremonts fireworks so I had to go inside to feed him. That's two years in a row I missed the fireworks. I will see them next year for sure!
Friday night at the Plain City dinner. We were extremely late, but we still were able to eat breakfast with the Jenkins'. This is the only picture I have of Corbin in his patrioticoutfit. He peed in it before we could even get home from breakfast. No one even saw him because it was so cold he was all bundled.
The day at Lee Olsen Park. I don't have many pictures because our day mostly consisted of hanging out close to where Corbin was sleeping. I walked around the park once, mainly to show off our cute little guy, but other than that we just relaxed on the grass.
Sunday was our first full three hour block of church. Corbin did great untl 3:45 then he just screamed. Overall it was a great attempt. That night we had dinner at Marianne's and lit a few fireworks.
Monday everyone had work off so my family had a picnic at Oak Lawn Park. Grace was working so hard to push Beau through the long grass.
It didn't work quite as well as they had hoped.
Finally, we ended the festvities with a BBQ and pool party with all the KBell fire guys. I was quite jealous of all the swimmers. They had a great time.
This entire post was typed with one hand. How do moms ever find the time to do anything?
