This past weekend my family rented a cabin in the Uintahs. It was such a fun one! It was just up past Oakley so it wasn't far away, but it was so beautiful. Right when we got there the first day all the boys and the kids headed off to a backbacking adventure. They hiked in two and a half miles and made camp for the night and then hiked out over five miles the next morning.

Shannon, my dad, and I were there to pick them up when they came out. It was so fun to see them finish. It was hard and long for a few of them, but they did great! My kids had so much fun! The rest of us just hung out at the cabin. Claire got a little bored with just me and the grownups, but she did like the viking rides.

The rest of that day we just hung out at the cabin. They decorated their own shirts with sharpies and hung out in the bunkhouse. Everyone was pretty tired from the hike so they were all asleep by like 10:30.
Friday morning we got ready and went to Smith & Morehouse with the peddle boat and kayaks. I thought this lake was so gorgeous! The water was freezing, but Corbin and Kent still got in for a little bit. There was a rope swing that a few of the older kids and dads tried. The rest of us hung out on shore and used the kayaks. We had our own private little spot and the lake is small enough the kids could kayak pretty far away.

Friday night we hung out by the campfire. Shannon had a fun jeopardy game and my mom brought mugs for all the kids to paint. Maggie went fishing with Bryce and Spencer and caught her first fish. She was so excited, it was darling! Bryce fried it up and they had it for breakfast the next morning.

Maggie thought this was the best vacation ever because she did three new things. She went backbacking overnight, caught a fish, and went paddle boarding. I thought it was a great one too. I love our family vacations every year!
