Cross Country

Corbin has had such an awesome Cross Country season so far. His personal record for the three mile race was at the Royal Run - 19:20.1. He has improved so much this season and has really enjoyed running. I also have liked that one of his best friends Mason is on the team with him. Grandpa has been at almost all the meets to cheer Corb on and talks to him about it often. I love that connection. I actually have been surprised at how much I have enjoyed watching the races. It is fun because Shannon has been at a lot of them watching Beau. Beau has been super competitive this season and it's so cool to watch. It has been a great season and I am excited to see what comes of his new love of running.
The team participated in the torch run for Weber's homecoming bon fire and Corbin really enjoyed that too.

Picking Potatoes

After we picked pumpkins today we went to Grandpa Jenkins to pick potatoes. The harvest wasn't nearly as good as last year, but I am glad my boys were able to help pick what there was. Grandpa plants with Jay and Scott so all three families were there. It was a short night, but so fun for Van and good for Corbin and Kent.

Picking Pumpkins

I feel like Corbin is missing a ton of our family stuff lately because he is so busy with Cross Country and Soccer. We went to Pettingills after school today to pick pumpkins. The group gets smaller every year, but it was still fun. They each picked their own and then Kent picked one for Corbin. A small little thing, but I love that Grandma Davis takes us to buy pumpkins every year.

Frightmares

We went to Frightmares last weekend with Shelly, Adam, and Quentin. Corbin didn't come, but the rest of us had a great time We did all the kids Halloween events, like the Spook a boo. We let the kids ride a few rides in the dark for the first time. I usually never take them at night. It was surprisingly way more fun than in the day light. The little kids (and me and Matt) were getting tired so we decided to leave. Kent was so sad because he really wanted to do a haunted house. Shelly and Adam offered to keep Maggie and Kent. Maggie went on rides with Quentin while Adam and Kent went to a few haunted houses. Kent had the best time! He was so excited to tell us about how scary of haunted houses he went to. It was a big deal to him and Adam was awesome to take him. There are some things about my kids getting older that make me so sad, but there are also things that I am loving and am excited for. Even though we didn't stay super late we did stay later than we usually do and it was a super fun night.

Piano Recital

Claire had her first piano recital a couple weeks ago. She played Jolly Old St. Nicholas and Song of the Volga Boatmen. She looked so tiny up on that huge piano, but she did a great job! She has been taking from Stacey Giatras since June. Stacey gave all of her students a rose after the recital. I have been a little surprised at how often Claire already complains and gets frustrated with the piano. I feel like my other kids liked it longer before they disliked it. She is doing a really good job though and most days sits down to practice with no problems.

Big Rock

Our family did a quick hike to Big Rock a couple weeks ago. I feel like we have a big age gap and we don't often do things with all the kids anymore. I was excited to go on a hike all together. It was just a short little one, but it was fun!
