Bunk Beds

A few weeks ago Matt helped his friend move and they were getting rid of their bunk beds. I have been debating and looking at bunk beds a lot, since we only have the one bedroom for all the kids. So, when a free one came along, I was all for it. I made a big deal about it, because I was worried Corbin would hate being on the top bunk. I let them go pick out their own sheets. Corbin chose Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Maggie chose Disney Princesses. The bunk bed has been a huge success. Corbin is now sleeping through the night, almost every night - huge accomplishment, since he was in our bed for the previous two months or so. He can't get down because he is too scared so he is stuck up on top. And we can't lay in his bed anymore so he is getting better at going to sleep on his own.
Maggie is rough to get to go to sleep, but that has nothing to do with this bed. We can't get her to stay in any bed, or crib for that matter.
The other morning after almost two weeks of the new beds, Corbin fell off the top bunk at 6:30 am. I don't know if he was awake and forgot where he was or rolled off in his sleep, but it was bad. We had our crib mattress on the floor of their room every night until that night. Corbin landed flat on his back and Matt and I heard the huge crash, then a few seconds later the screams. Matt rushed in there and Corbin was flat on his back and having a very hard time catching his breath because he got the wind knocked out of him. Matt was just leaving for work, but ended up staying and holding Corb for over a half hour because he was still having such a hard time catching his breath. It took him almost an hour before he was up and moving, it made me so nervous.
I was afraid he wouldn't ever get back in his bed, but so far we haven't had anymore problems and he still thinks it is cool. I finally made Corbin learn how to climb down yesterday because I was getting really sick of lifting him down a million times a day.

Changes

This past week my bishop had some major health issues. He had his aeorta burst and while they were in emergency surgery they fixed tgree aneurysms. He is 75 so this is quite the ordeal. He will be out for months recovering. Well, Matt was the only counselor in the bishopric because the stake took the first counselor to the high council a few months ago. So, the stake called Matt in earlier this week to call him as the first counselor. They are not releasing our bishop, but wanted Matt to be the presiding member on Sundays because he has been in longer. The stake worked with Matt to choose a new 2nd counselor and he was called and set apart today.
Matt is going to be even busier in the next few months to pick up where bishop won't be there. It is kind of daunting,  but our meeting today was so good.  The stake president told our ward that bishop still holds the keys to our ward, but he has two wonderful men to act in his place while he is sick. I know Matt and Brother Sleeman will do great in there new callings and I am praying for our dear bishop to recover quickly!

Pizza Man

A few weeks ago Corbin's preschool went to the Pizza Man in North Ogden for their field trip. It is my favorite one we have had yet. They got to watch how they make the bread dough. Then they each got a couple bread sticks to twist and put on the pan.
They each got to make their own personal pizza too. All the toppings were on the table and they could put whatever they wanted. Corbin loved it. They got to eat the bread sticks while the pizzas cooked.
Maggie hated just watching because she wanted to be a part of it all. She loved when we got to eat all the leftover bread sticks and Corbin's pizza though!
